Former President Goodluck Jonathan is preparing to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). A senior figure in his circle told Vanguard that the decision followed wide consultations on the best political platform for his return. The aim, according to the source, is to offer leadership that can respond to the current economic hardship and poverty in the country. Different groups have already stepped forward with plans to purchase the form on his behalf. They include diaspora supporters, northern-based coalitions, youth movements, and online campaign networks.
