REP. IDEM SUCCESSFULLY DEFENDS DOCTORAL DISSERTATION, AWARDED Ph.D IN LEADERSHIP

  The Member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Public Procurement, Rep. Unyime Idem, has successfully defended his dissertation, leading to the award of a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D) in Leadership and Strategic Studies from the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State.  Rep. Idem in his dissertation, on the topic "Leadership and Nation Building in Nigeria," argued that the failure of past presidents of Nigeria to implement merit-based, inclusive governance, severely undermined nation building.  His recommendations included formulation of the Nigerian dream, where national vision transcends ethnic and religious boundaries, implementation of merit-based appointments and strict enforcement of Federal Character Principle.  Others are Deepening electoral reforms to reduce identity-based political mobilization, combating corruption impartially and promotion of civic education to build a stronger sense of natio...
