Idem's Kind Gesture: Lawmaker Donates Wheelchairs, Celebrates with 200+ People Living with Disabilities
In a bid to ensure that no group is left behind in the celebration of the Yuletide, the member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and chairman, Public Procurement Committee, Rep. Unyime Idem, has reached out to over 200 members of Association of People Living with Disabilities in Ukanafun and Oruk Anam chapters with food items and cash gifts.
He also used the opportunity to donate wheelchairs to some members of the association, who had need for it.
Addressing them at his residence in Ukanafun local government area, Rep. Idem said the meeting was convened to thank them for their continuous support and prayers for him and to remind them that their welfare will continue to be his top priority, as they are Very Important Persons (VIPs) to him.
He also reiterated his promise to keep carrying them along in his plans.
In his words "I called you today to celebrate the season with you, and also to say thank you again for your continuous support and prayers for me.
You all are my VIPs so I don't take you all for granted. Let me reiterate my promise not to leave any of you behind in my plans."
On their part, chairman of the Association of People Living with Disabilities in Ukanafun, Inemesit Uko Thomas, and the Secretary of the association in Oruk Anam chapter, Ekereobong Iwok, appreciated Rep. Idem for always looking out for their welfare and making out time to celebrate the season with them in person, despite being despised by others.
They prayed for the lawmaker and pledged their unalloyed support for him and his future aspirations.
