Earlier today, I joined His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, at the flag-off of the 5,000 Capacity Ibom International Convention Centre and 200 Bedroom Ibom International Hotels, both in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
The event is part of activities to mark the celebration of the Governor's administration's second anniversary.
Speaking with journalists at the event, I noted emphatically that the 5,000 capacity Ibom International Convention Centre, and 200 Bedroom Ibom International Hotels, when completed will be big money spinners for Akwa Ibom state and will shore up the Internally Generated Revenue of the state massively.
These projects, when completed, will be a huge blessing to the state as they are capable of stimulating the state's economy as well as attracting tourists and investors to the state.
Let me use this opportunity to applaud His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, for being a man who does not play politics with the projects he inherited in the state.
Gov. Eno remains the only governor who has continued with the highest number of abandoned projects in the state.
The 5,000 capacity Ibom International Convention Centre project, handled by Craneburg Construction, is to be completed within 18 months, while the 200 Bedroom Ibom International Hotels, whose construction is done by Ratcon Construction Company, has a delivery timeline of 12 months.
