DISCLAIMER: APC Youth Leader, Udoworen sends Open Apology to Senator Akpabio

 



Ubokobong Udoworen, the All Progressives Congress' Youth Leader for Akwa Ibom Northwest (Ikot Ekpene) Senatorial District, has tendered an open apology to the Senate President, God'swill Akpabio and the wife. 


The apology titled an "Open Apology/Letter to The Senate President" and made available to the TheMail Newspaper on Monday, August 25, 2025, explains issues surrounding Mr. Udoworen's alleged assault and detainment last year, describing the narratives as "lies and deceits" peddled in his absence against the Senate President. 


 The letter reads: "AN OPEN APOLOGY/ LETTER TO THE SENATE PRESIDENT


I write to express my deepest apologies for the misunderstanding arising from the unfortunate incident where I was assaulted by known individuals. 


Following the incident, there were accusations suggesting that you were involved in/or sponsored these actions. I understand that these accusations were unfounded and wrongful towards you and you wife.


I regret that due to the actions of some of this known persons, yourself and your esteemed wife were wrongly accused and potentially faced with reputational harm.


I acknowledge that you had no hand nor involvement in the assault meted on me and I sincerely apologise for any distress or inconvenience these accusations may have caused you, your office, and your dear wife Her Excellency, Dr. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio


It's rather unfortunate that people took advantage of the misfortune that befell me to spew mischief against you, your highly revered office and your dear wife.


Also for the records, I wish to categorically state that, at no time did my aged father, Mr. Ime Peter Udoworen, accuse you of having a hand in my assault. It's on record that as distressed as he was as a result of what happened to me, he came out to only plead to you to come to his aid and help bring the perpetrators of these dastard act on his son to face justice.


May I use this opportunity to categorically state that while in the hospital fighting for my life, I never instructed anyone to accuse Your Excellencies of having a hand or sponsoring my attack. Let it be on record that it was the same people that attacked me that went ahead to hire bloggers to write ill of your Excellencies to make it look like I'm the one that sponsored them to do so.


After I was assaulted on the 19th of January,2024 and upon recovery I was wrongly arrested, detained for three (3) days and charged to court for a crime I never committed nor know nothing about. However, the same people that attacked me were unconditionally released before me and I became the victim the second time.


To the glory of God I was discharged and acquitted of all charges barely few weeks ago, and I feel this is the right time to set the records straight and address all lies and deceits that had been peddled in my absence against Your Excellencies.


Once again, I sincerely apologise for any distress or inconveniences that these wrong narratives and lies have caused you and your good office. 


My loyalty still remains with you, Your Excellency and I hope we work together to take our dear State and country to the height it truly deserves.
