REP. IDEM RECEIVES REPORT ON SELECTION OF BENEFICIARIES FOR ONE BILLION NAIRA GRANT AHEAD OF DECEMBER EMPOWERMENT, RECOMMITS TO TRANSPARENCY AS EVALUATION BEGINS
The Member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Public Procurement, Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem, Ph.D, over the weekend, received the report of the Central Planning Committee (CPC) on the selection of nominees to benefit from the Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem One Billion Naira Family-Based Empowerment Grant.
Recall that Rep. Idem had on August 10, 2025, inaugurated the CPC to oversee and ensure seamless selection of beneficiaries as well as the planning and execution of the One Billion Naira Family-based initiative.
The report detailed the process in which the nominees were selected, from across the close to 300 villages of Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, conducted by the Ward Coordinators, Co-Coordinators, Media Coordinators, Observers, and supervised by members of the CPC.
Receiving the report, Rep. Idem thanked the CPC, Ward Coordinators, Media Coordinators, Co-Coordinators and Observers, who were all in attendance during the meeting, for following through with the terms of reference and for doing a thorough job.
He also used the opportunity to reiterate that the evaluation and final selection of beneficiaries will be transparent and fair as he had promised, appealing to his constituents to trust the process.
Earlier in his remarks, the CPC chairman, Hon. Saturday Akpan, thanked the federal lawmaker for always finding ways to improve the lives and well-being of his constituents, and for the confidence reposed on the committee to deliver the assignment.
The Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem One Billion Naira Family-based Empowerment Initiative will be launched on December 6, 2025, where one thousand constituents, drawn from all the families across Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, will receive One Million Naira each to enhance their businesses.
