VISIT: REP IDEM MET AGF AT ASSEMBLY COMPLEX

 Rt Hon Unyime Idem PhD, the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Procurement, met with Mr. Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi, the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), yesterday at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja. This courtesy visit likely underscores the collaborative efforts between key government officials on matters impacting Nigeria's financial governance and public service delivery.


Discussions presumably revolved around critical national matters, possibly touching on fiscal policies, budget implementation, transparency in public finance, and procurement processes.


 



As Chairman of the House Committee on Public Procurement, Idem plays a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria's procurement laws and ensuring accountability in public spending.

The AGF, Mr. Ogunjimi, oversees Nigeria's treasury management and financial reforms, making his interaction with legislative leaders like Idem significant for policy alignment.



 Idem represents Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in Akwa Ibom State and chairs the House Committee on Public Procurement.

 He's emphasized tackling corruption linked to procurement processes and advocated for amending the Public Procurement Act 2007 to reflect best practices.
