DEFECTION: STUDENTS SUPPORT UMOENO - NANS TREASURER
As the National Treasurer of NANS, a key executive member and the highest-ranking student leader in the state.
She attended this meeting organized by the PA to the Governor on Student Affairs, Dr.Wisdom Emmanuel, following Governor Umo Eno's recent defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The meeting, which took place over the weekend, brought together key student leaders and stakeholders from various student organizations within the Akwa Ibom student community.
The purpose of the meeting was to reaffirm our unwavering support for Governor Pastor Umo Eno's leadership and his commitment to student welfare. Despite his party defection, we expressed confidence in his ability to drive the ARISE Agenda and prioritize youth empowerment.
The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ubong Essien Umoh, was also in attendance, and his presence underscored the government's commitment to education and student development. The meeting was attended by representatives from several prominent student groups, including, NANS, NAAKISS, Council of SUG Presidents, Worldwide Presidents, Students Traditional Rulers Council, AIFSA, Niger Delta Students Union Government, NAAKIMS, and NAUS, Stakeholders, etc.
In her words "I acknowledged the Governor's consistency in prioritizing youth welfare and expressed my gratitude for his unwavering support for students. I also appreciate the effort of Comr. Wisdom, for organizing the meeting and fostering a sense of community among students. I charged the students to remain focused, united, and committed to supporting the Governor's initiatives, regardless of party affiliation".
, the highlights of the meeting was the reaffirmation of our commitment to Governor Umo Eno's leadership and our confidence in his ability to deliver on his promises to the student community. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the government and working together to advance the interests of students in Akwa Ibom State.
