JONATHAN'S FUNERAL: Mr Samuel Jackson spotted at Ikot Udo Mbang

  Earlier today, The business-mogul-cum-politician Mr. Samuel Jackson today, graced the funeral service of Late Elder Hon. Jonathan Sampson Akpan in Ikot Udo Mbang, Ukanafun Local Government Area. The funeral service which was held at Afaha High School Ikot Udo Mbang, was conducted by Qua Iboe Church, Ikot Udo Mbang Ukanafun Local Government Area. Jackson in a condolence message to Hon. Otobong Akpan the deceased Son described the Late Elder as a devout Christian, a politician, a humanist extraordinaire, an ardent educationist, a great disciplinarian, a community builder, a dependable adviser, a visionary leader, a defender of the truth, a dedicated father and a teacher with a difference who made significant contributions to the development of his family and the community.  He charged him to take solace in the legacies of his late father and prayed to God to grant eternal rest to the departed carcass.   We have observed with shock the news making the rounds that a group of political profiteers in Akwa Ibom State under the disguise of Conference of Former Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State Branch, gathered to adopt President Bola Tinubu, Senator Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno ahead of 2027 general election. It is ridiculous that Akwa Ibom people are hearing for the first time that such a group exists in the State.  We are suspicious of the motive of this group of politicians with some members whom since their exit from office have been racking their mental archives to device new means of satisfying their vaulting desire to remain relevant in politics. The Member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Public Procurement, Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem, Ph.D, over the weekend, received the report of the Central Planning Committee (CPC) on the selection of nominees to benefit from the Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem One Billion Naira Family-Based Empowerment Grant.  Recall that Rep.   Breaking News: Total Chaos in Senate as Abaribe Storms Chamber with Biafran Flag — Vows “No Plenary Until Nnamdi Kanu Is Freed!” Release Him or Watch This Country Burn Politically!’” Tension gripped the National Assembly today as Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe stormed into the Senate chamber waving a giant Biafran flag, demanding the immediate release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The usually calm lawmaker erupted in fury, shouting: “Enough is enough! My brother is sick, yet you keep him in detention while Bko Hram members walk free!   In a bid to tackle rising unemployment and harness the potential of youths in the State, Governor Umo Eno has launched an ambitious initiative to establish a Youth Development Centre across the State. These dynamic centers will provide young people with the skills, opportunities, and resources they need to thrive in today's fast-changing world. The hubs, which will be built in all 31 Local Government Areas, will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including multi-sectoral training centers, incubation hubs, co-working spaces, and recreational lounges. Each Youth Development Centre will offer modular programs, accelerator and incubation support, and access to digital tools, arts, and culture.
