Decoding Your Car's Gear Shift: What's the Difference Between D and D3

Image
Certain automatic cars have a D3 written on the gear shift, often found directly below or to the right of D. It's probably something you always skip over and never really thought about while running errands — or you're hoping to learn more about your car but can't seem to figure out how gears work in your automatic car. Simply put, D means drive. When you put your car in D3, that means you've set third gear as your highest setting, whereas you can reach every gear of your car in D. Basically, D3 is used when you're driving uphill, downhill, or in stop-and-go-traffic, ensuring your driving is more efficient — it's one of many ways to use less gas while driving. D3 limits your car from reaching higher speeds so you can ensure you're not speeding in certain areas, have better acceleration, and are easier on your brakes. D3 is ideal for driving speeds around 20 to 25 miles per hour — once you reach 30 or higher mph, you should switch back to D.  If you find you...

IYC alleges invasion, attack of Ijaw communities in A’Ibom

The Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Worldwide, has raised the alarm over what they described as the “frequent unprovoked attacks and invasion of defenceless Ijaw communities in Akwa Ibom State by Eket militants.” In a press conference, the Spokesman of IYC, Amb Binebai Princewill, said the IYC will not negotiate the development and peaceful coexistence of the Ijaws in any part of the World including the safety of its people in Akwa Ibom for anything, adding that an attack on any Ijaw in Akwa Ibom or anywhere is an attack on the Ijaws in general and if the government fails to do the needful by calling the Eket militants to order, the Ijaw people will have no choice than to defend themselves. BIRTHDAY: Kendy Jumbo nicknamed

Image
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHOUTS TO THE PRINCE OF PROSE, KENWORLD JUMBO  Today, we celebrate a young man destined for greatness, a journalist whose brilliance shines through every stroke of his pen. To me, Kenworld Jumbo is no ordinary writer. He is a master craftsman, a wordsmith whose ink flows with intelligence, creativity, and the power to translate thoughts through skillfully woven words into discernible reality.   With the gentle grace of his journalistic pen, Kenworld has the unparalleled ability to nurture an idea that seems like an acorn into a mighty oak-like intellectual piece. His writing genre simply builds, inspires, and transforms public opinions and private thinking. But, like the dual nature of fire, his pen does not only create—it devours evil. When Kendi or the people he loves and owes loyalty to are provoked or unjustly attacked, his pen wields a fiery sting, capable of shaking even the mightiest iroko tree to its roots.   As Edward Bulwer-Lytton ...

Last word of Alexander the great

Image
THE D.E.A.T.H. MOMENT OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT His death is still shrouded in mystery. However, the story of this great emperor's death is still being passed on unceasingly. The story goes that he realized that death was coming and that he would not be able to return to his homeland in time. He told his officers: “I am about to leave this world. I have 3 wishes. Do what I say." The generals obeyed with teary eyes. 1. Let the best healers carry my coffin. 2. Spread my possessions, including all money, gold, diamonds, gems on the way to the cemetery. 3. Let my hands hang loose and leave them out for all to see. One of his generals was so surprised by these unusual requests that he asked Alexander for an explanation. Alexander the Great replied: "I want the best healers to carry my coffin to prove that, in the face of death, even the best healers in the world don't have the power to bring death back to life. I want to spread all the gold coins on the road to let everyone k...

Located at the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Lagos State, the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Plant, the world’s largest single-train refinery, has become a game changer in Africa since it started operations. With the increasing reliance on the refinery by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and oil traders from Nigeria and other West African countries, the facility is gradually bringing to an end decades-long fuel imports from Europe to Africa estimated at about $17 billion a year. With the heightened competition from the Dangote refinery, European refineries that are already at risk of closure due to dwindling refining margins, are facing incre...
