THIS IS NOT JUST A ROAD; IT IS A LIFELINE THAT CONNECTS - Umo Eno

Image
I commissioned the 14.28km Ikot Ubo–Odot Road and a model Primary Health Centre in Nsit Ubium yesterday. This isn’t just a road; it’s a lifeline that connects Nsit Ubium, Nsit Atai, Eket, Onna, Ikot Abasi, and others more easily to Uyo and the Airport. I remember the days of struggling through terrible roads to catch a flight. So I insisted this road be rebuilt to the highest standard, and I’m proud we’ve delivered. We also opened a world-class Primary Health Centre at Ikot Ekwere as part of our commitment to accessible healthcare for every Akwa Ibomite. And yes, we’re hiring 1,000 new health workers! Applications are open now through our official portal (not through any ‘connections’). I’m deeply grateful for the love and support from our communities and leaders. We are building real progress, not politics. And we are just getting started. God bless Akwa Ibom State.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of our great Party, at its 99th meeting today, Tuesday, May 27, 2025 thoroughly examined the State of affairs of the Nation and the Party and resolved as follows: 1. NEC condemns the worsening insecurity; the wanton killings, banditry, kidnapping, marauding of communities and other acts of terrorism in various parts of our country, emboldened by President Tinubu’s apparent negligence and abdication of his Constitutional duty to ensure the safety and security of the nation and her citizens.  3. NEC also laments the worsening economic hardship and extreme poverty in the country occasioned by the ill-advised and ill-implemented polices of the Tinubu administration; hike in fuel price, wanton increase in electrici...

Okongko Charity Foundation: Giving Back To Society- Kendi Jumbo

Image
In the face of the daunting economic downturn in our country and the resultant effects on the wellbeing of the people, especially the less privileged, Okongko Charity Foundation has continued to prove its mettle as a pro-needy humanitarian organisation by silently coming to the rescue of many in this part of the world. Just recently, the Foundation came through to rescue a few Akwa Ibomites who were on the verge of losing a life-transforming opportunity with the United Nations office in Abuja.  Having been briefed by the affected Akwa Ibiomites about the opportunity and the fear of losing out because of logistics issues, I immediately reached out to Dr. Chris Okongko, Founder of the Okongko Charity Foundation, for help, before I could say Jack Robinson, he authorised a transfer of the required logistics amount to them. Today, the rest is history! Why do I put this up? One, it's to appreciate the Foundation for living up to its name and calling as a truly less-privileged-cent...

MR PRESIDENT: This one is a Cantankerous Minister - Dele Momodu

Image
THANK YOU, PRESIDENT TINUBU Your Excellency, good evening Sir. I have just read the news here in America that you have stepped into the matter of your cantankerous Minister of FCT, MR NYESOM WIKE who sealed the National Secretariat of the PDP, the biggest rival of your ruling party, APC, and properties of other defaulters in Abuja earlier today. While no one should condone non-compliance of government obligations, government must always restrain itself from vindictive outbursts such as that of Nigeria's most querulous politician who I'm sure is fast becoming a liability to your government. The decision to stop Wike today achieved several points in your favor. We used to think we have two Presidents in Nigeria, TINUBU and WIKE. Now, we know WIKE has a Boss who can checkmate his excesses. How I wished you had stopped his reckless disruption and distraction of the SIM FUBARA government in Rivers State and saved the hapless people from this unfortunate contraption called emergency...

Postponing a Funeral Doesn’t Raise the Dead: The Jonathan Lesson and Tinubu’s Blind March- Barr. Solomon Dalung

Image
No president in Nigeria's history received more public endorsements for a second term than Goodluck Jonathan. Politicians across party lines, governors, senators, traditional rulers, religious leaders, billionaire businessmen, and over 10,000 well-funded support groups flooded the airwaves daily, confidently predicting his victory—some even before noon on election day. For Jonathan's administration, money was never a constraint. Funds were recklessly thrown at anyone who showed the slightest support—so much so that merely greeting “Mama Peace” with a “Good morning” could attract largesse. A month to the February 2015 elections, the Jonathan government secretly commissioned an international poll expert to predict the election outcome. The result? A shocker. The poll predicted Jonathan would lose if the election were held as scheduled. Alarmed, the president summoned the National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki, and the head of the DSS. Their internal intelligence confirme...

Earlier today, I joined His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, at the flag-off of the 5,000 Capacity Ibom International Convention Centre and 200 Bedroom Ibom International Hotels, both in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state- Rep. Idems

Image
Earlier today, I joined His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, at the flag-off of the 5,000 Capacity Ibom International Convention Centre and 200 Bedroom Ibom International Hotels, both in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.  The event is part of activities to mark the celebration of the Governor's administration's second anniversary.  Speaking with journalists at the event, I noted emphatically that the 5,000 capacity Ibom International Convention Centre, and 200 Bedroom Ibom International Hotels, when completed will be big money spinners for Akwa Ibom state and will shore up the Internally Generated Revenue of the state massively.  These projects, when completed, will be a huge blessing to the state as they are capable of stimulating the state's economy as well as attracting tourists and investors to the state. Let me use this opportunity to applaud His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, for being a man who does not play politics with the projects he inherited in the state.  Gov. En...

Earlier today, he sent a strong warning to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) not to abuse the newly revised Public Procurement thresholds, just approved by President Bola Tinubu  He also directed the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) to ensure proper monitoring of MDAs to avoid abuse of the new thresholds.  He handed down these warnings when the Director General of BPP, Dr. Adebowale Adedokun presented the newly revised Public Procurement thresholds to the House Committee on Public Procurement, which he chair in Abuja.  He further warned that the House of Representatives will not hesitate to sanction any MDA that abuses the newly revised Public Procurement thresholds, or found to be in breach of any of the provisions of the Public Procurement Act.  The House of Representatives, through the Committee also during the engagement, ratified the newly approved Public Procurement framework to allow for swift implementation by MDAs.  The approval by Pr...

AKPABIO WILL LOSE IN ESSIEN UDIM- EX-LG CHAIRMAN

Image
Something to remember 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 “I am the chairman of Essien Udim LGA, let us count the wards that will support him (Akpabio). My ward will not support him, the other time their party, APC, got zero votes in my community, Okon. So, what makes you think he will get 100% of the people of Essien Udim. “What yardstick will they use in supporting him (Akpabio), when we have Ukana Clinic in Ukana, when we have MOPOL base, Federal Polytechnic, Police Secondary Secondary all in Ukana, what will my people show for it?  What of Odoro Ikot? What do we have in Afaha Ikot Ebak? What do we have to show in Ukana West 1? What do we have to show in Ikpe? Want do we have to show in Adiasim? What do we have to show in Ekpeyong 1 and 2? Ukana, where he comes from may support him, but surely he cannot win in Essien Udim. “Akpabio will not have even 5% vote in Okon, what do I have to show as an Okon man?. The only road that got into Okon has not been completed till date, what will I use to campai...

Eno Never Said the State Receives N200B Monthly – Akwa Ibom Govt The Akwa Ibom State Government has debunked an online report by The Crest Newspaper crested  as Breaking News alleging that Governor Umo Eno admitted the State receives N200 billion monthly. In a release Thursday afternoon from the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Uyo, the Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Umanah, described the claims as false, misleading, and irresponsible.  He clarified that contrary to the report, there is no State Executive Council Meeting currently ongoing, but rather the monthly two-day Projects Delivery and Performance Review Meeting. “At no point did the Governor state or suggest that the State receives N200 billion monthly,” Umanah stated. “He only cautioned against misleading headlines such as one claiming the State received N650 billion which could falsely imply a monthly revenue of N200 billion, an impossible and inaccurate figure.” On political matters, t...

KEEPING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT — A REBUTTAL

Image
KEEPING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT — A REBUTTAL 1. I had received a call that inquired if I have a farm in Ukanafun, and I answered in the affirmative. Thereafter, I was scheduled for a short video session on the farm in which I talked about the ARISE farmers scheme of Government. The said video, I understood, was to be uploaded on the ARISE Entrepreneurial portal as one of the PROMOTIONAL materials, to project the scheme and also encourage others to engage in farming 2. I was not told I would be included as one of the beneficiaries in the farmers' grants neither was I given any slot to include anyone else  3. I was utterly surprised when I saw my name on the List as one of the beneficiaries under the ARISE Farmers category 4. On seeing my name on the List, I reached out to the appropriate authorities to express my discontent and asked that my name be immediately DROPPED from the list  5. Like I hinted earlier, I DON'T NEED THE MONEY 6. I have never taken anything meant for th...
